On this sunny Saturday, an unusual condition in the July days at Wimbeldon, it was come back time for the William sister Venus. After sustaining an injury and losing out on Australian open, Venus has come back with vengeance.

Her win this year proves that Venus is still the No 1 player on grass, beating the arrogant Russian gal Sharapova. It is astonishing to see how focused Venus has been even after all the glamor attached to the game, something that Russians are non-immune of.

Venus beat Sharapova comprehensively in the 4th round, and there was no looking back after that. It was sad that the other William sister, Serana could not make it to the finals.Hoping that 2008 will bring back the williams to the finals, when I will have the previlege to watch them in the center court under a new roof.
